An alleged KKK member tried to sell a radiation device to Ku Klux Klan members. timesunion.com reports:
An industrial mechanic with General Electric Co., who is also allegedly a member of the Ku Klux Klan, designed a deadly mobile radiation device that he intended to sell to Jewish groups or a southern branch of the Ku Klux Klan, according to a federal complaint unsealed Wednesday in Albany.
The device was intended to be a truck-mounted radiation particle weapon that could be remotely controlled and capable of silently aiming a lethal beam of radioactivity at its human targets. The concept was that victims would eventually die from radiation sickness.
Glendon Scott Crawford, 49, of Galway, is accused in a federal complaint of developing “a radiation emitting device that could be placed in the back of a van to covertly emit ionizing radiation strong enough to bring about radiation sickness or death against Crawford’s enemies,” states the complaint attributed to an FBI agent.
There’s also another guy behind the plot, but that’s beside the point.
Notice there’s no mention of Christian extremism, no questions being raised about where this deranged man may have been radicalized, and no calls for the deportation of all Christians from the U.S.
I don’t hear any calls for a full-blown investigation of the Bible to see which passages might have motivated Crawford to commit such a violent attack. I don’t see any people wondering if Christianity is an inherently violent religion.
I don’t hear any Senators or House Representatives calling for increased surveillance in churches. I don’t hear Peter King calling for a hearing to investigate radical Christians.
What if Muslims were behind this plot?
A national story of complete hysteria would break out. Hate crimes would multiply against Muslims around the country. Many non-Muslim Americans would call for the deportation of all Muslim Americans.
Others would want an end to all immigration from “Muslim countries.” Political leaders across the country would go on record saying stupid and ignorant things about Muslims and Islam. The hatred would be ramped up.
Moral of the story: terrorists come from all kinds of backgrounds. Unfortunately, you won’t hear that often in the media or public discourse.

Excellent article. Here is the usual logic:
If it’s a non-Muslim that commits a crime, he is insane.
If it’s a Muslim that does it, Allah made him do it.
And it’s not just terrorism, it could be anything like for example rape. In India, we get a lot of news about a woman being raped or a child being raped. But no one is going to suggest that Hinduism made them commit the rape. But when it was the Saudi guy that raped his daughter, it had to be Islam that made him do it.
I mean this stupid logic of “Allah made him do it” has reached a momentous epidemic proportion and is accepted everywhere without anyone giving any second thoughts to it.

Thanks for the comment AJ. I think you’ve summed it up quite well. Unfortunately, it seems like the world has different rules for Muslims when it comes to committing crimes. In the US, for example, a crazed young gunman who shoots up a school might happen to be white and of Christian heritage, but his faith is hardly, if ever, raised in the discussion of motivation. But God forbid if the person had a “Muslim sounding name.” “Islamic terrorism” would immediatly be the reason for his insanity. It’s ridiculous, as you stated perfectly.
