A Ridiculous Picture of the Cliffs of Moher, County Clare

This ridiculous picture of the Cliffs of Moher, County Clare (Ireland), was snapped by Sean Tomkins. Obviously it captures the natural beauty of the cliffs, but it also shows a rare natural optical event called a “Brocken Spectre,” or “a magnified shadow of an observer, typically surrounded by rainbow-like bands, thrown on to a bank of cloud in high mountain areas when the sun is low” (Oxford dictionary.) You see Sean’s shadow?

  1. wow, so it’s a rare but real phenomena? Oh my, I thought for sure it’d been photoshopped-until I read the caption that is. What a beautiful sight, God really does work in mysterious ways. The beauty He creates in nature never ceases to surprise and astound me! 🙂
