On December 1st, 2017 I will be speaking at the Dialogue Institute of the Southwest in Dallas, Texas. The event starts at 7:00PM. The title of the talk is “Christian Muslim Relations in the Early Years of Islam.” I will be engaging mainly with the concept of religious pluralism and how it relates to the Prophet Muhammad’s Covenants with the Christians of his time. This is a topic which I have published on. Some of the articles include:
- Religious Pluralism and Civic Rights in a “Muslim Nation”: An Analysis of Prophet Muhammad’s Covenants with Christians (Religions)
- A Must Read: “Six Covenants of the Prophet Muhammad with the Christians of His Time: The Primary Documents” (Craig Considine)
- Pluralism and the Najran Christians: How Prophet Muhammad Went Beyond Tolerance (Huff Post)
- What Prophet Muhammad’s covenants with Christians say about IS (Middle East Eye)
I gave a similar seminar titled “The Prophet’s Covenants with Christians” at the Islamic Institute in Houston. You can RSVP for the event at the Dialogue Institute of the Southwest in Dallas on their website.
