Wake up, people.

The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum (Washington, D.C.) and Fortify Rights, an NGO that investigates human rights violations in Southeast Asia, said in a recent report that Myanmar’s state security forces appear to have “targeted the Rohingya group with several of the enumerated acts in the law of genocide.”

Genocide.

In 2017.

The story was reported by Time.

The Myanmar government, led by Aung San Suu Kyi, is complicit in the genocide. She has denied the atrocities and the Myanmar military recently attempted to exonerate itself through an internal investigation dismissed as a farce.

I touched upon how the Myanmar government empowers Buddhist nationalist factions who promote genocide against the defenseless Rohingya and how the Rohingya group are emerging as “the New Palestinians.”
