Today is the feast of Saint Patrick. It is a day to give thanks to God for the gift of Christianity and for the example of so many women and men who have been lights in the darkness for us, who have brought the faith to the ends of the earth, and who continue to inspire us by their example. Today we can be proud of the Christian heritage. But it is also an opportunity for each of us to reaffirm our commitment to the Lord and his kingdom.
Today we don’t just give thanks for our Christian past. We pray also for a Christian future. Happy feast!
