Can you say entrapment?
A report by the Human Rights Watch (HRW), an organization dedicated to promoting human rights, concludes that the FBI encouraged and sometimes even paid Muslims to commit terrorist acts after 9/11.
Aided by Columbia University Law School’s Human Rights Institute, the HRW report noted, ‘In some cases the FBI may have created terrorists out of law-abiding individuals by suggesting the idea of taking terrorist action or encouraging the target to act’.
Actually, the FBI entrapping American citizens is not really news. The Rolling Stones covered this issue years ago in 2012. They made a good point in that the FBI doesn’t simply target Muslim Americans.
Andrea Prasow, the deputy Washington director of HRW, stated, ‘Americans have been told that their government is keeping them safe by preventing and prosecuting terrorism inside the US … But take a closer look and you realize that many of these people would never have committed a crime if not for law enforcement encouraging, pressuring and sometimes paying them to commit terrorist acts’.
In their report, Human Rights Watch also argued that the FBI deliberately targets vulnerable people, with mental problems or low intelligence.
